Ford’s Warriors in Pink, an off-shoot of the automaker that works to fight against breast cancer, recently commissioned several studies, which were looking to identify the challenges and concerns faced by cancer patients, while also seeing how most adults in America today understand these challenges.
Conducted in part of the Warriors’ More Good Days initiative, Ford was trying to find ways to help ease the struggles that cancer patients and their families face on a day-to-day basis.
“What the results of the surveys tell us is that while most adults aren’t sure how to support these patients, the majority – 75 percent – want more information on how to help,” says Tracy Magee, Ford Warriors in Pink brand manager. “The insights give us an opportunity to build upon the resources we offer to ensure we respond to the needs of those undergoing treatment.”
One of the main concerns of patients was the ability to maintain a normal daily routine, with most respondents saying they need help with things like meal preparation and household chores. In response to this need, Ford has begun to work with the organization Green Chef, which operates an organic meal delivery service. They are also partnering up with Cleaning for a Reason, which provides basic household chore assistance.
“We’re looking forward to working with Warriors in Pink to help friends, family and caretakers provide healthy meals to the breast cancer patients in their lives,” he says. “Home-cooked, organic meals make total sense in terms of providing patients with a good day.”
