The bestselling Ford F-150 has a brand new package that is aimed specifically at local law enforcement and fleet customers. This new Special Service Vehicle package offers top-notch gear, power and agility that local agencies need for their day-to-day activities.
“We offer a whole family of police vehicles,” said Arie Groeneveld, Ford chief program engineer for police vehicles. “Our lineup aims to fulfill the unique needs of law enforcement officers, and our F-150 Special Service Vehicle is an extension of that offering. This vehicle definitely lives up to its Built Ford Tough reputation.”
Among the many terrific features available on the new F-150 is vinyl flooring, a removed center console, an easy-clean rear vinyl bench and a high-output alternator; features that were created with local police departments in mind. This new F-150 package will be available on both the SuperCrew and SuperCab models of the truck, making it “the toughest, smartest, most capable F-150 ever,” according to the automaker.
Ford isn’t stopping at the F-150 though. The automaker will also be offering similar packages on the Ford Expedition and several of their leading sedans. There will even be a Transit Prisoner Transport Vehicle available to local law enforcement agencies.
