Ford Motor Company and DTE Energy Announce Purchase of Largest Renewable Energy from a Utility in U.S. History

Ford Motor Company and DTE Energy Purchased the Largest Renewable Energy

Ford Motor Company and DTE Energy purchased the largest renewable energy utility in U.S. history. The two companies will purchase more than 1,000 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy. It is enough to power more than 800,000 homes.

Renewable energy will come from a combination of wind and solar projects. It will power Ford's manufacturing and office facilities in Michigan.

The purchase is part of Ford's ongoing commitment to reduce its environmental impact. They want to increase the use of renewable energy. In addition, Ford has pledged to reduce its carbon emissions by 30 percent. They hope to do this by 2025.

About DTE

The company is involved in several different energy-related businesses. Some include electric and gas utilities, alternative energy, and energy services.

DTE Energy is also a leader in the development of renewable energy sources. It has over 1,000 MW of renewable energy capacity.

DTE Energy announced the launch of a new program.

MIGreenPower will add 650 megawatts of new solar energy in Michigan. It will increase the total solar in Michigan by nearly 70%.

The solar installations will be used to power Ford's offices in Michigan.

The expansion of solar energy in Michigan is part of DTE's larger goal of reaching 1,000 megawatts by 2022. DTE has already installed over 350 megawatts of solar energy in Michigan. The new program will help them reach their goal.

The 650 megawatts of solar energy will benefit Michigan in several ways. It will create jobs, reduce emissions, and help to keep energy bills low. It will also help Ford to reduce its carbon footprint and become more sustainable.
