Ford To Invest Billions for America's Shift to Electric Vehicles

Recently, Ford has decided to get involved in the largest investment of electric vehicles in the U.S. At one time ever. No other automaker has ever invested more. Along with its partner, SK Innovation, they are going to invest 11.4 billion dollars in electric vehicle plants.

Ford and the Future of EV

The auto manufacturer has said that it is working on building zero-emission cars under this plan and will be doing so at scale. This program will also have the effect of creating 11,000 jobs for customers. Ford is also striving to make it so that it will be able to sell half of its cars as zero-emission vehicles by 2030.

There may be an additional government investment to make this happen, however. Ford plans to start a factory in Tennessee called Blue Oval City, which will stretch over a 6 square mile area. It will build the next generation of electric pickup trucks and batteries starting in 2025.

Ford will also be creating a factory in Kentucky which will create top-of-the-line Ford and Lincoln SUVs. In fact, Ford has also already started to invest more in EVs at its plants in Texas and Michigan. Its partner, SK Innovation, is a battery maker in South Korea.

Some of this is a response to the fact that electric vehicles only make up a small percentage of sales in the U.S. The U.S. Government is trying to change this through new bills that do things like create customer incentives and add more charging points.

Investments

Investments from parties like Ford and the U.S. will make it so that many more people will be able to acquire zero-emission cars that run completely on electric power. This would help with jobs, boost the economy, and create a greener Earth.

So, if you've ever thought about acquiring an EV such as one from Fords, it may be a good time to start thinking about it. The advantages of getting an electric vehicle are likely going to only increase from here.
