Ford and Skyline College Partnership

Ford Motor Company recently joined forces with Skyline College Automotive Department, and Serramonte Ford is excited to play a role in the new partnership.

The school is participating in the Ford Automotive Career Exploration (ACE) program, which provides enhanced training for students and staff, and access to technology, tools, vehicles and learning opportunities that typically aren’t available through many automotive partnerships.

In exchange, Ford gains an opportunity to train future technicians and get students interested in working for their company. When Thomas Broxholm, who is professor and program coordinator of the Automotive Technology department at Skyline, heard about the Ford ACE program he worked with Serramonte Ford to get the college onboard. Serramonte Ford has been involved with the school for about two decades, holding a place on the Skyline College Automotive Department advisory board.

With the new partnership, our dealership will provide internships for students in the automotive program, and we couldn’t be more privileged to help young auto enthusiasts grow and learn the skills they need to be successful in the industry. In addition to the internship program, the school also received a 2014 Ford Focus as a donation, and will receive a variety of other benefits, including resources for teachers.
