Ford Supports First Responders and Community During Los Angeles County Wildfires

The recent wildfires in Los Angeles, CA, have resulted in extensive and devastating damage, leaving many without homes and numerous businesses destroyed. In the wake of these losses, the local community has received support from the auto industry, including the well-known American automaker Ford Motors. Ford has announced its intention to help impacted community members and first responders as they work to recover and rebuild from the disaster.

How is Ford Helping?

In conjunction with Ford Philanthropy, Ford dealers in 13 states throughout the Western US have donated to the California Community Foundation's Wildlife Recovery Fund. Their donation of $465,000 is dedicated to providing local organizations in California with the supplies and resources required to support community members. The funds raised by Ford and its charitable division also benefit the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation. In addition to supporting the wider LA community, Ford is assisting displaced residents by offering reduced prices on Ford vehicles and options for deferred payments. Moreover, Ford offers free electric chargers to customers who purchase an electric vehicle, and its employees may take paid leave to contribute to recovery efforts.

What Organizations Does Ford Support?

Ford's donations are assisting several organizations in the LA region. The American Red Cross, Feeding America, World Central Kitchen, and Team Rubicon are among those benefiting from Ford's contributions. Collectively, these organizations provide essential support to LA wildfire victims as they rebuild following the fires. The Red Cross continues to supply shelter and vital supplies to those displaced, while Team Rubicon is working to deliver longer-term support as victims await the restoration of their homes. Feeding America and World Central Kitchen remain committed to supplying meals and food to affected residents.

Special Electric Vehicle Support

Owners of Ford and Lincoln vehicles in the FEMA disaster area are eligible for special incentives from Ford. This includes reimbursement for all-electric vehicles charged at a charging station from January 7 - 31. Local Ford dealerships also extend free charging adapters to customers who have lost their homes or are using an electric vehicle to support disaster relief efforts. Additionally, Ford offers free replacements for customers whose home charging stations were lost in the wildfires.
