George Washington High School is a public high school in the Richmond District of San Francisco, California. George Washington High School opened on August 4, 1936. The school was built on a site overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. The school was formally dedicated on Armistice Day 1940.
It's vision is that every George Washington High School student will be a life long learner who can think critically with a social conscience. They wish that all their students strive to reach their full potential while maintaining mental and physical health. Their hope is that their students will grow to be resilient, productive and contributing members of their communities. Their stated "Four Pillars" are:Â Â Community, Achievement Respect, Equity.
Serramonte Ford is honored to support George Washington High School programs and has hosted a fundraising event to raise funds to help refurbish the gym facilities.

Golden Gate Bridge Behind the Football Stadium
The curriculum includes a variety of advanced Visual Performing Arts classes including: Dance Company, Ceramics, Vocal Music, Band and Orchestra, Computer Art and AP Art and Design. There is a computer lab and a Computer Science pathway, with courses in Robotics. Washington is one of only two San Francisco public high schools with a Marching Band.
The school is a Newcomer Pathway school that serves recently arrived students from all over the world. There is also an extensive program for special needs students who comprise about 10% of the student population.
