The Explorer has been updated inside and out to maintain its competitive edge. The 2025 model has new front and rear designs. What Are the 2025 Explorer's Trims & Features?
The 2025 Ford Explorer comes in four different trims.
The base trim, the Active, is packed with features such as tri-zone climate control, heated front seats with multiple adjustments, keyless entry, push-button start, and captain's chairs in the second row that seat up to seven people. The Active also includes wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Google voice commands and navigation, a digital instrument panel, and a six-speaker sound system. It rides on 18-inch wheels and includes a power liftgate and LED exterior lights. You can opt for a package with a heated steering wheel, remote start, a more adjustable front passenger seat, and synthetic leather upholstery.
The ST-Line adds a sportier appearance with exterior and interior upgrades. This trim has a black grille, black lower body cladding, and darker headlights & taillights. The ST-Line includes 20-inch wheels and black synthetic leather seats with red stitching. Additionally, it offers more safety features and a premium B&O 10-speaker sound system.
The ST model upgrades to 21-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated second-row seats.
The Platinum trim has a dual-pane sunroof, leather seats, a 14-speaker sound system, and adaptive headlights.

How Much Power Does the 2025 Explorer Produce?
The Explorer's standard engine is a 2.3L four-cylinder that generates 300 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.
The ST has a turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine that delivers 400 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. It is available in the Platinum trim.
What Safety Features Are Included in the 2025 Explorer?
The Explorer's standard safety features include rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane centering, intersection collision mitigation, and evasive steering assist.
