2018 Ford Expedition Overview

Comfort and style start with the 2018 Ford Expedition in Colma, California. Featuring refreshed styling on the outside and inside, a new engine and transmission, and plenty of ways to customize, the new SUV is just what your family needs.

Trims & Features

The large SUV is offered in three trims: XLT, Limited and Platinum. The eight-passenger Expedition comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, heated mirrors, roof rack rails, running boards and rear parking sensors for added safety. Inside, the long list of standards continues with a six-way power driver seat, power-adjustable pedals and push-button start/stop. Tech-wise, 2018 Ford Expedition reviews highlight the vehicle's high-end amenities, which include a 4.2-inch central display, six USB ports, Bluetooth, rear audio control, satellite radio and nine-speaker sound system.

On top of these benefits, the entry-level XLT can be fitted with even more creature comforts by going with one of the two available packages: 201A and 202A. The former choice gains leather-appointed seating and eight-way power-adjustable front seats, while the latter option adds dual-zone climate control, a power liftgate and an 8-inch touchscreen.

The Limited is also offered in two separate packages: 301A and 302A. A panoramic sunroof and navigation come fitted on the 301A option, while the other package adds 22-inch wheels, LED headlights and foglights and adaptive suspension dampers that automatically adjust to all types of roads.

The top-ranging Platinum trim is the most luxurious of the bunch; it comes with things like enhanced leather upholstery and upgraded seats that feature a massage function.

One Perky Powerplant

2018 Ford Expedition reviews applaud the vehicle's new engine specs, which are now 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque, thanks to its revised 3.5-liter turbocharged V6. The SUV also gets a new 10-speed automatic transmission for the current model year, and it can be matched to either a rear-wheel- or four-wheel-drive configuration. The Platinum employs the same motor, but it ups horsepower to 400 and torque to 480.

Safety First

Every new 2018 Ford Expedition in Colma comes standard with an army of high-quality airbags, antilock disc brakes and a rearview camera for added safety. In addition, a wide range of driver-assist technologies are also available, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert and automatic emergency braking. Upper trims are also fitted with a 360-degree camera that makes backing up and parking easier.
