What's New For the 2019 Ford EcoSport?
Available for just the second year in the United States, the 2019 Ford EcoSport needed very few changes. A new Black Appearance Package is now available to drivers who go with the SES trim. This can add a black roof to certain exterior color choices. Additionally, FordPass Connect is now available on all versions of this vehicle.

Which Features are Available for 2019?
Drivers can choose from four well-equipped versions of the 2019 EcoSport. They are the S, SE, Titanium, and SES. Each of these vehicles is designed to comfortably seat 5 people. While the S, SE, and Titanium have both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive options, the SES only comes with all-wheel-drive.
Drivers of the S trim will get plenty of standard features such as remote keyless entry, heated side mirrors, a 4.2-inch infotainment screen, 2 USB ports, a rearview camera, 2 12-volt power outlets, cruise control, and a 6-speaker sound system.
Moving up to the SE trim, drivers will enjoy roof rails, keyless ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, LED running lights, turn signal indicators on the side mirrors, the Sync 3 infotainment system with a 6.5" screen, and a powered sunroof with shade. This trim is also compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Titanium trim adds many convenient and luxurious features. It features leather seating surfaces, a heated steering wheel, a self-dimming rearview mirror, voice-controlled navigation system with an 8-in touchscreen, a 10-speaker 675-watt B&O Harman, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
Those wanting the SE version but needing some of the perks that the Titanium version offers can add the Convenience Package. This adds the voice-controlled navigation system with an 8-in touchscreen, Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Traffic Alert, ambient lighting, WiFi, and more.
Finally, the SES trim is meant to be more rugged than the rest. It comes standard with both all-wheel-drive and the larger engine option. This one features many of the same things as the Titanium but adds steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters as well as a sportier suspension.
2019 Ford EcoSport Powertrain Options
There are two possible engine options for the 2019 EcoSport. The first is a 123-hp, 1.0-liter I-3 that is designed to work in perfect harmony with the standard 6-speed automatic w/OD and auto-manual transmission. This engine gives drivers an impressive EPA estimated 28 MPG combined. EcoSports that are front-wheel-drive come with this option. Those who need a bit more power can go with the 166-hp, 2.0-liter I-4 that is paired with the same transmission and comes on all-wheel-drive models. This engine also offers very respectable gas mileage, with an EPA estimate of 25 MPG combined.
Safety Features in the Forefront for 2019
There are many standard safety features on this year's EcoSport. Highlights include four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, roll stability control, traction control, and a comprehensive suite of airbags. Coming standard on Titanium and SES trims, as well as optional on the SE trim, is Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert. With diverse safety features, the 2019 EcoSport is a vehicle that deserves a closer look.
