What's New For the 2019 Ford Taurus?
Overall, the 2019 model year for the Ford Taurus is largely unchanged. There were a few minor feature improvements to the exterior and interior styling, including shifting features that are available with lower trim levels. One change that some people may notice is that the power-adjustable steering wheel is no longer available with the 2019 model year.

Ford Taurus has Four Trims & Countless Features for 2019
Similar to the prior model years, the 2019 Ford Taurus comes with four different trim levels. These trim levels are the SE, SEL, Limited, and SHO. One of the biggest differences between the trim levels is that the SE can only come with FWD. The other trim levels can all be equipped with AWD for an upgrade.
With all four trim levels, you will have the option of seven different paint colors. There are also a variety of different interior cloth and leather upholstery options for you to choose from. One of the primary differences between the trim levels are the features that are included. The SE trim comes with very few options and upgrades, but the higher trims will come with a variety of great interior features.
Those that get the higher trim levels will enjoy the Ford MyKey system, which includes smartphone integration and the ability to unlock your car using your phone. Some of the other top features that are available with the higher trim levels include a six-speaker audio system, a USB port, a 4.2-inch touchscreen display, and other entertainment and luxury finishes that will give you a very comfortable mode of transportation.
Compared to other vehicles in the same class, the 2019 Taurus has great cargo and cabin space. Passengers typically are satisfied with legroom in the back seats and there are more than 20 cubic feet of space in the trunk.
2019 Taurus Powertrain Options
For those that are looking for a car that provides great performance, the 2019 Taurus is a great option. There are two different V6 engine options available to drivers. The primary engine option is a V6 that produces about 288 horsepower. Those that upgrade to the SHO trim will receive the twin-turbo engine option that produces more than 350 horsepower. Overall, both engine options compare very favorably to the rest of the class of sedans.
Fuel efficiency ratings are acceptable given the strong engine performance. With the base engine option, you will receive an EPA estimated combined 23 MPG. This declines slightly when upgrading the Taurus to either AWD or the more powerful engine option. When both of those features are included, MPG will decline to about a combined 21.
Ford Taurus Safety In the Forefront
One of the strongest selling points of the 2019 Ford Taurus is the range of safety features. All of the trim levels will come standard with a rearview camera. Some of the other features that will come with the higher trim levels include lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, rear traffic alerts, and pedestrian crossing warning. All of these will give safety alerts that can keep you safer behind the wheel.
