What's New For The 2019 Ford Ranger?

The Ranger is new to the lineup, after being discontinued in 2012. Since being available, there are quite a few things that are new for the compact pickup truck. You will notice that it has a completely new exterior design, which is similar to the T6 Ranger seen in Europe. There's a fancy grille with a trapezoidal design and running lights. The interior is packed with new features, too, including cruise control, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an infotainment center with a 3.5-inch screen. You will also enjoy the performance and rugged capabilities as a result of the EcoBoost turbocharged engine.

There are three trim levels on the Ford Ranger, including the XL, XLT, and Lariat. You will also have two configurations to choose from, such as the SuperCab and the SuperCrew, giving you more space in either the cab or the bed. The SuperCab will give you the ability to seat up to five people. The XL base model provides a lot of amenities, such as a rearview camera, daytime halogen running lights, and Applink.

The XLT offers up a power-locking tailgate as well as a few other amenities. Then, the Lariat provides leather-trimmed seats, a dual-zone AC control (instead of the single-zone offered in the other two trim levels), and a few other perks. All of the trim levels will provide you with remote keyless entry, cruise control, a locking glove box, and a smart-charging USB port. You can also add towing capabilities with the Smart Trailer Tow Connector, allowing you to tow up to 7500 pounds.

Ford Ranger Power & Performance

The 10-speed automatic transmission also helps with the performance. You can choose the standard rear-wheel drive or the four-wheel drive. If you like to go off-roading, you'll love the rear leaf springs. You can also add the FX4 off-roading package, which gives you skid plates, off-road-tuned shocks, all-terrain tires, and a Terrain Management System.

Ford Ranger Safety Features

You can enjoy pre-collision assist and lane-keeping technology, a blind spot monitoring system, reverse sensors within the rearview camera, and a tire pressure monitoring system. You'll also have anti-lock brakes and roll stability control. With the Lariat, pedestrian detection is added to the forward collision avoidance system along with adaptive cruise control. There are also plenty of airbags and a post-crash alert system in the event of an accident. When there are children in the car, you can benefit from the LATCH system for car seats as well as the child-safety locks on the rear doors.
