There are additional special paint colors available for select trims as an upgrade.

2021 Explorer Trims & Features

The base Ford Explorer trim has seats for seven people total, while you can choose captain's chairs and seats for six people instead of with the second trim and up. The base trim has a power-adjustable seat for the driver. Its second-row and third-row seats fold flat to free up room in the cargo area, covering nearly 88 cubic feet or making room for passengers. The Explorer has more features inside and out with the XLT, which is the second trim. With this trim, you will get roof rails and captain's chairs to replace the second row's bench seat. The steering wheel gets a leather finish for a more upscale appearance, and heated front seats are added. The Limited has ventilated seats as well for the front row. Its seats are upgraded to leather upholstery, and the cabin receives ambient interior lights. Sunshades are built into the second row, and you will also get a wireless charging pad. The second-row seats are heated and power-folding. Limited has an available hybrid option.

The ST adds unique custom accents, a sport-tuned suspension, and paddle shifters. The Platinum has leather seats, more safety features, and a turbo engine. A panoramic sunroof is available for the 2021 Explorer, and you can add an entertainment system in the back as well.
