What's New For The 2023 Ford Explorer?

The Ford Explorer is a full-size SUV that has been retooled to offer drivers more features and improved driving dynamics.

There are many differences between this model and the previous one, including an all-new exterior design, an all-new interior design, a full suite of driver-assist technologies to make your drive smoother and easier than ever before, better fuel economy with an available 10-speed transmission, the highest payload capacity in its class with standard two-row seating configurations.

What Are Its Trims And Features?

Rear privacy glass, a power liftgate, 18-inch alloy wheels, power outside mirrors, and wiper-activated LED lighting are all standard on the base Ford Explorer model.

Roof rails, heated side mirrors with approach lighting, keyless entry with a proximity key fob, and push-button start are all included with the XLT model.

The ST-Line adds acoustic laminated front side windows, a black mesh grille, exclusive ST-Line exterior aesthetic components, 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, and dual chrome exhaust tips to the Explorer XLT 202A High Package specification.

The Timberline trim is targeted toward SUVs with off-road capabilities. It has 4WD as standard equipment and a Terrain Management system with settings for Deep Snow/Sand, Slippery Trail, Tow/Haul, Eco, Sport, and Normal.

The Limited offers heated and ventilated front seats as well as heated rear seats. It also has ambient interior lighting.

The ST trim upgrades the vehicle with a 20.2-gallon fuel tank, 20-inch painted aluminum wheels, blacked-out headlights, and taillights.

The King Ranch features Sapele Wood highlights, King Ranch insignia on the floor mats and seatbacks, and upholstery in Java-colored Del Rio leather with embossed and perforated inserts.

The Platinum includes illuminated front-door plates, painted front and rear skid plates, and 21-inch alloy wheels.

The Ford Explorer's new 3.3L EcoBoost® engine has a better fuel economy than the previous model's 3.5L EcoBoost® engine by up to 6%.  It also performs better when climbing hills or towing heavy loads (up to 7200 pounds). The Explorer has a standard advanced camera system designed to work during all weather conditions.

The vehicle has standard Ford SYNC® radio connectivity that allows you to access your smartphone's music library through the vehicle's Sync system. The new Explorer also comes with a Sync AppLink™ for compatible vehicles, allowing owners to stream their phone's data connection straight to the vehicle.

The Ford Explorer receives standard safety features, including lane keeping assist, forward collision warning with cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, blind spot monitor, and a rearview camera.

How Much Horsepower Does It Have?

The Ford Explorer is powered by a standard 3.3L EcoBoost® engine producing 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. It also has an optional 10-speed transmission, allowing the vehicle to cruise at highway speeds more smoothly than other models.
